Built From Nothing.
Built to Last Forever.
In the winter of 1978, a retired naval engineer named Heinrich Weber leased a modest dry dock on the southern bank of the Elbe River in Hamburg with twelve employees, a second-hand plasma cutter, and a belief that German precision could build the world's finest ships. He was right.
Forty-six years later, OceanForge operates a world-class 2.4km² waterfront facility — 40+ active production berths, 18 overhead cranes, 6 CNC plate-cutting halls, and a digital engineering centre housing 480 naval architects and marine engineers. We have delivered 847 vessels to clients in 45 nations, from Arctic research icebreakers to 400-metre ultra-large container ships.
Today, under the leadership of Capt. Hans-Georg Weber — Heinrich's son — OceanForge combines that founding spirit of uncompromising craft with AI-assisted production, digital twin technology, and the most rigorous quality system in European shipbuilding. We don't build ships. We build legacies.
