OceanForge Titan

Ultra-Large Container Vessel · The Largest Ship We've Ever Built
In March 2023, OceanForge made history by delivering the Titan — a 400-metre, 21,000 TEU ultra-large container vessel — to TransGlobal Container Lines, five days ahead of the contracted delivery date. The build consumed 48,000 tonnes of high-tensile steel, involved 1,200 workers across 14 modular assembly bays, and used our proprietary real-time digital twin platform to eliminate €12M in potential rework costs. The Titan-9 now operates the Asia–Europe trade corridor and has not missed a single scheduled port call in 18 months of service.

Our Story

46 Years of Maritime Mastery

Founded in 1978 on the banks of the Elbe River in Hamburg, OceanForge began as a 12-person workshop with a single dry dock, a borrowed plasma cutter, and an unshakeable belief that German precision and maritime craftsmanship could build the world's finest vessels.

Today we operate a world-class 2.4km² waterfront facility — 40+ active production berths, 18 overhead cranes, 6 CNC plate-cutting halls, and a digital engineering centre housing 480 naval architects and marine engineers. Our clients include some of the world's most demanding shipping companies, offshore operators, and sovereign fleets.

We combine time-honored German craftsmanship with proprietary digital twin technology, AI-assisted production scheduling, and robotic welding systems that operate with ±0.3mm precision — because when a vessel is $200M of your capital, "close enough" is never good enough.

The People Who Trusted Us With Everything

These aren't curated soundbites. These are real outcomes from real projects — with real numbers that tell the story of what happens when engineering excellence meets absolute accountability.

Project: Iron Atlas Fleet — 12 Bulk Carriers
★★★★★
"OceanForge delivered our fleet of 12 Capesize bulk carriers at a total contract value exceeding $1.74 billion — three weeks ahead of schedule and not a single dollar over budget. These ships have now logged over 840,000 combined nautical miles across the Pacific with zero major mechanical failures. Their 24/7 post-delivery technical support has been as impressive as the build itself. I have used three other major yards in my career. There is no comparison."

Project: NordGas Aurora — LNG Carrier

"Commissioning an LNG carrier is the most technically demanding capital decision a shipping company can make. OceanForge's engineering team didn't just build us a ship — they engineered a decade-proof asset. Four months into service, our fuel consumption is running 22% below projections. Their digital twin platform alone saved us an estimated $4.2 million in commissioning time by identifying three systems conflicts before they were physically installed. That kind of intelligence is priceless."

Project: DeepSea Rig-7 — North Sea Platform
★★★★★
"The semi-submersible drilling platform OceanForge built for us has operated in the North Sea for five consecutive years without a single unplanned shutdown. That is 43,800 operating hours of flawless performance in conditions that destroy lesser-built structures. In our industry, one day of production downtime costs $1.2 million. OceanForge's engineering discipline has effectively paid for itself many times over. When we commission our next platform, there will be no tender process."

Project: OceanForge Titan-9 — ULCV
★★★★★
"When we ordered the Titan-9, it was the single largest capital expenditure in our company's 30-year history. OceanForge managed it with the precision and accountability of a firm that had done this a thousand times — because effectively, they have. The vessel entered service 18 months ago and has not missed a single scheduled port call on the Asia–Europe corridor. Our ROI is tracking 14 months ahead of our investment committee's base-case forecast. That's not luck — that's OceanForge."

Project: Azure Voyager — Mega Cruise Ship
★★★★★
"I have sailed vessels built in Busan, Nagasaki, and Monfalcone. Nothing compares to the craftsmanship of an OceanForge ship. The Azure Voyager is a masterpiece in every sense — from the structural integrity of her hull in force-9 swells, to the attention in crew accommodation, to the integrated navigation bridge that my officers called the finest they've ever operated. Our guests feel it. Our crew loves it. And our owners have already signed the letter of intent for the next build with OceanForge."

Why OceanForge

The Advantages That Set Us Apart

We don't just build ships. We build partnerships, trust, and the future of global maritime trade.

0.3%
Defect Rate — Industry's Lowest

Zero-Compromise Quality

Every vessel exits our yard having passed 2,000 individual quality checkpoints — backed by a 10-year structural warranty that no other major shipyard in Europe offers as standard. Our defect rate of 0.3% has been independently verified by Lloyd's Register every year since 2011.

30%
Faster than Industry Average

The Fastest Yard in Europe

Our modular block construction methodology, 24/7 three-shift production schedule, and AI-optimised resource allocation mean your vessel is delivered months ahead of comparable yards — without a single quality checkpoint skipped. Time is money at sea. We return it to you early.

100%
Fixed-Price. No Exceptions.

Fixed-Price Certainty

Cost overruns are the shipbuilding industry's dirty secret. Not at OceanForge. Our fixed-price contracts — used on every project above $50M — are contractually binding with milestone-based payment triggers, so your board sees exactly what it approved, delivered exactly as promised.

€12M+
Saved in Rework via Digital Twin

Live Digital Twin Access

From the moment steel is cut, a real-time 3D digital twin of your vessel is available through our client portal — 24/7. Track build progress by module, simulate performance under load, identify systems conflicts before installation, and review quality sign-offs in real time. No other yard offers this.

24/7
Support Across 14 Time Zones

Lifetime Technical Partnership

Our relationship with you doesn't end at the flag-raising handover — it begins. Dedicated technical account managers, a global spare parts network with 48-hour delivery to any major port, and annual classification renewal support mean OceanForge is with your vessel for its entire operational life.

2050
Compliance Built In — Not Retrofitted

Future-Proof by Design

Every OceanForge vessel built today is engineered with structural provisions for future green propulsion retrofits — including LNG, methanol, ammonia, and hydrogen ready systems. Your vessel's compliance with IMO 2040 and 2050 targets is not a future expense. It is already in the contract.
